Background of the Republican Party of Vietnam (RPV) and its founders

RPV was founded on April 3, 2015, in the context of Vietnam’s need for a political organization firmly committed to Republican ideals, with the goal of establishing the true Republic where real power belongs to the people.

The founders of RPV came from various regions, united by a shared aspiration to revitalize the nation and uphold Republican values. Founded by Nguyễn Viết Dũng (activist name: Dũng Phi Hổ) and his associates, RPV emerged as a pioneering organization dedicated to building and defending the Republic, aiming to bring together patriotic Vietnamese who share true Republican ideals. Committed to peaceful and transparent activities, the Party strives for a civilized and prosperous Vietnam.

Currently, RPV is calling on talented and dedicated Vietnamese worldwide who share Republican ideals to join hands in revitalizing Vietnam, protecting its territory, lives, security, and the common interests of the Vietnamese people. This effort is pursued in a spirit of openness, peace and cooperation.

Why Is It Necessary to Build and Protect the genuine Republic?

History has shown that some so-called republics have cheated on elections from the beginning, or were initially honest but then transformed into dictatorships under the guise of a Republic. They took advantage of the name of the Republic to manipulate elections, violate the law, weaken the judicial system, issue laws that are disadvantageous to the people, and deprive the people of their legitimate rights.
Recognizing this risk, RPV is committed to building the true Republic grounded in five core principles, of which the fundamental principles are representative democracy and free and fair elections.
